My words came back to bite me!
Who would have thought?
This week I went to my 5th speech competition. After dedicating my entire schedule to this contest, and training day-in and day-out, I brought my game face on Saturday. I was prepared, and surprisingly calm all day. When it came my time to perform, I brought it! I felt really great about my connection to the audience, as well as my delivery.
Much to my dismay, God had another plan for the outcome on Saturday. I did not win. I took the disappointment hard that night, and gave myself permission to feel my feelings yesterday. But you know what? Today is a new day. I will rejoice, and I will be glad in it.
No, I will not be the 2017 World Champion of Public Speaking. That door has closed. BUT, something GREATER is in store, and I look forward to taking the next step in life and watch it unfold!
Is there a closed door that you need to celebrate? Remind yourself that something greater is in store, and throw some confetti! I'm serious - go get some confetti, and toss it in the air. Enjoy watching it as it dances to the ground. At the very least, it will make you smile.... (until you have to clean it up) :)
